Let's be honest, nutrition products are needed. They can help enhance our workouts, help with pain, help us take care of ourselves, and increase our overall health all together. I got a BuluBox this week, with some great products in it! Some I would never even think to look for at the store, but I realize would be very helpful for me. Here's what I got!

  1. Yerba Prima-is a fiber powder, which I love to add to my smoothies but haven't had any to do that with in a long time. This specific one is full of goodness that promotes healthy bacteria in the gut. This is actually such a big deal, because with so much of the food in our world today, many of us are walking around with bad guts, which can cause a lot of inflammation in our body! I am definitely going to be trying this and reading up on it. 
  2. The T-Brush-a different way to brush your teeth. This was a bonus for this box, but I am so intrigued, and have enjoyed the different shaped toothbrush so far. 
  3. Island Boost-is supposed to be an automatic shot of energy without caffeine. I am running 8 miles tonight, so I plan to try this out and I'll let you know how it goes!

I LOVE FITNESS!.....Annoying or Inspiring!?

When you love fitness, are you annoying, or inspiring to those around you? \ I love FITNESS and HEALTHY LIVING! I love being ACTIVE, and learning new things about good NUTRITION!

Does that make me annoying, or inspiring to others!? 

When you are enthusiastic about something, whether fitness or something else, you walk the line of being annoying to people, or inspiring to people.  For some people, they are going to get annoyed with anything, so for those I say don't worry about it! 

From the aspect of being enthusiastic about fitness and healthy-living, I will share what I think. 

I believe that when you are consistent with things, when you are kind and gracious about the things you share. When you are real about the struggles, not just sharing the !!AWESOME stuff! When people can relate to you. When you offer good, easy to pick up advice. When you talk about things other than fitness. I believe having a good balance of this, can take you from annoying to inspiring. 

I do believe that if fitness is ALL you talk about, then it can be annoying. If you can't have one night out without talking all about your workouts and what you are eating, or bringing the attention to your food choices, then you are playing with the line of becoming annoying, even for your close friends. 

There is a balance to find. You must understand that even when you LOVE something, and you think EVERYONE SHOULD LOVE IT! That is not always the case, and you have to be okay with that. 

What I have found is that by living life like I do, being passionate yes, but even more than that, being consistent with a healthy lifestyle, and not PUSHING MYSELF or my FITNESS ENTHUSED ideas on everyone. When I do that, opportunity or advice seeking people come to me. Which I love! I love it when people seek me out to help them! It makes me feel good because I see that people notice my dedication and respect me enough to ask for advice. It also makes me happy because I am able to help someone and share the #LeaveYourLegacy lifestyle with them! 

People will notice when you are consistent. People will notice when you are dedicated. And in their own timing, they will respect that, and might even come to you for advice on how to get healthy! 

So my encouragement, when you LOVE FITNESS, and see the importance of LIVING A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE! Be you, be yourself in every area of life! Be real! Stay dedicated. And you will see that people notice it and they will be inspired by it!

You Might Have an Imaginary Personal Trainer If....! #DishtheFit


We all know the feeling of wanting to give up at the end of a workout, or maybe just do three reps instead of four.  Whatever the case, in moments of weakness, we tend to want to cut ourselves short of getting the full, intense, body burning workout that we intended to get when we started. At times like this, I tend to use personal mantras to get me through...especially when it comes to running.  At other times though, when I just can't seem to find my own motivation, it helps to call on my Imaginary Personal Trainer!? (very similar to your child's imaginary friend)

What does your Imaginary Personal Trainer say to you when you want to GIVE UP!?


So don't must admit that you have an imaginary personal trainer looming around in your thoughts as well! Let me give some examples:

If you have ever experienced this, you may have a secret IMAGINARY PERSONAL TRAINER....

-It's NOT rest day, but your are trying to justify sitting at home in front of your favorite television show rather than going to the gym IMAGINARY TRAINER: "Get your butt off the couch and go sweat!" 

-It's 5AM, and you are dreaming of texting your running partner that you are "cough cough" not feeling well enough to meet up this AM. IMAGINARY TRAINER: "Your are going to regret this later today....don't be flaky with your running partner. Get up and go run! You will be happy you did!"

-Your on the treadmill, and your training day says to run 4miles today, but after one mile, you are thinking you might just walk the rest while you watch the rest of the Friends episode on the gym TV.  IMAGINARY TRAINER: "You will get done a lot faster if you run the entire time. Plus, walking is not 'the same' as running. RUN!"

-The Crossfit workout of the day is 70 burpees (WTH)!! You notice you are already behind, so you are thinking of just jumping ahead 10 counts.  IMAGINARY TRAINER: "DO NOT  CHEAT YOURSELF! Plus you are lying to everyone else by saying you did the entire set when you didn't!"

Now, here's the time to be you have an Imaginary Personal Trainer? What are some of their go-to motivational words to get you moving!?

Here's a few of the things that my Imaginary Personal Trainer always says to me!

  • "Com on you can do this keep going!" 
  • "You are almost done, stay strong tip the end!" 
  • "They are on your tail.....finish strong!!! Don't let them beat you!"
  • "Get up and work out!! If you don't, you will feel terrible later!"
  • "Working out now will influence the rest of your day! If you get your sweat on now, you will be more aware of what you are eating all day long! Come on, you want to do this!!! Go SWEAT!"
  • "DON'T YOU DARE GIVE UP! You have goals that you want to set, now push yourself and GET THERE!!"
  • "YOU ARE STRONG! You are Strong! You are Strong!"
  • "Remember, your son is watching you! Push yourself, work hard, don't cheat yourself! You want to teach him that healthy living is something we love! So work hard, and get moving!!! It's not just about you!" 

I would love to hear some of the things that your IMAGINARY PERSONAL TRAINER usually says to you! Maybe my personal trainer could borrow some of your go-to motivations!!





How do you FIT in Fitness!?

Fitting fitness into our lives can be very challenging.  Especially when we live such busy lives, and what I have learned since becoming a mom, is our lives just get busier, and Fitness gets harder to prioritize.

For example:


I used to do most of my running in the evening or whenever I felt like it, not much planning beforehand....well now with a baby, I have to plan if I do night time workouts and coordinate with my husband's schedule to watch the baby.

In general, my workouts were always late at night, 8PM or later usually....well that's right at my son's bedtime, so that obviously doesn't work anymore....and getting the early morning workout routine down is HARD!

My husband and I used to go to the gym together (late at night)....For us to be able to workout together or at the same time again, we have to pay MORE MONEY and go to a gym that provides/offers childcare.

So obviously you see, it's even harder to FIT in fitness into my schedule since becoming a mom.

So, how do I FIT in Fitness into my life!?!?

This question for me can be summed up into one quote.


And this is something I constantly have to remind myself!

Here's a few ways I can break this down in my lifestyle and the way I live, to make sure I'm making being FIT part of me, instead of a final goal or destination.

1) My Family

If you have been around my blog much at all, you know that the drive behind blogging is all about creating a healthy and active family lifestyle, and wanting to motivate YOU to do the same! It is so important to me to make healthy choices for my families sake.

Along with that, getting out and doing active things as a family is so important to me, and something that I think really helps keep Fit as part of who we are as a family. With my immediate family, (My husband, son, and me), we do things like go walking together, run 5K's together, go hiking or exploring outside, bike riding, and more.  Plus, when we plan trips or vacations, we like to look for active, outdoors things that we can do, and this year that even extended outside of just my little family, into a large family vacation we took with Aunts, Uncles, etc. You can read about how we got active as a family HERE.

2) Food

Food has always been a challenge for me.  I have been a picky eater most of my life, but I am really learning to eat healthier, and enjoying it! Plus I have been adding more and more to my menu these days, and I am so proud of that!

Basically, for me, I have found what works! I have breakfast and lunch foods that I love and that are good for me.  Plus LOTS of healthy snacks on my list of go-to's, and I pretty much stick with those! There are several posts recently where I talk about this, but I think it is fine to keep what you eat basic, if it's something you love! And to me, being able to find good foods that I love makes it so easy for me.  I am not striving to stick with a diet or calorie counting, just eating whole foods at their most natural state, and for me having healthy snacks to run to is so important.  And when we do go eat out, I just try to be more aware of what I'm choosing.

3) My Friends

With friends, I have found that I am most successful at keeping fitness a priority when I have friends that I can work out with! Plus it is so fun to get your sweat on together, then enjoy a nice smoothie together as you chat!

So if you don't work out with your friends...invite them to join you next time you go get sweaty!

4) What I Love to Do

Plus for me, in the most recent part of my life, since I have started teaching Yoga, fitting in fitness is part of what I do on a daily basis.  Plus, not only do I go teach my own classes, but it is important for me to workout with other instructors and in other ways as well, so fitness HAS TO FIT INTO MY LIFE.  But, it has become something I love to do! And even on days when I don't feel like it, having the above things in place, a family that is fit with you, eating well, and friends that workout with other those things can usually motivate you on days when you are struggling to find motivation from within!

So if fitness for you has a goal or destination attached to it...CHANGE IT! Make it a LIFESTYLE, not just something to achieve!
