Snack Prep Tips

Just about every weekend I spend some time making some of my favorite healthy snacks. It's my way of making sure our family is ready to have a success week of healthy eating! Plus when you live a sugar free lifestyle, preparation is KEY! Since mostly every snack around us...in convenient stores, grocery stores, etc...all contain sugar. 

It only takes a couple of hours. I decide which snacks we will have for the week, add the ingredients to my shopping list, then prep for an hour or so. I usually will make two batches of each and freeze parts of them so that we have plenty! When I have prepped snacks, not only is it good for me, but it's great for keeping my husband away from junk food! 

Lately I have been utilizing Bob's Red Mill Nutritional Boosters and Protein Powders in a lot of my snack recipes. A few weeks ago I shared this amazing Butter Nuggets recipes! These things are full of protein, plus taste like candy!  

I love adding protein powder to lots of healthy snacks. Plus when using Bob's Red Mill products you know that they are sugar free, gluten free, vegan and full of probiotics (which we could all use more of for that gut health!).

Here's some of my favorite weekly snacks to make: 

  • Granola
  • Power Packed Granola (aka healthy cereal to mix with almond milk)
  • Protein Pancakes (freeze them and use them throughout the week)
  • Protein Waffles (freeze and pop them in a toaster when you want them)
  • Protein Bites
  • Granola Balls
  • Butter Nuggets

Protein Butter Nuggets Recipe

If you are following me on Snapchat, then you know that my family and I are headed out tomorrow for a 13 hour road trip to Nashville, TN! If you aren't following me on Snapchat, then you should be! (@BrittanySuell) Because I'm constantly sharing the inside of my kitchen and yummy Sugar Free food prep! 

And since we are going on vacation, I wanted to prep some snacks! My reason for doing this is two fold...One, every normal person gets hungry in the car! So in order to keep from picking up tons of junk food along the way, I prepped healthy and delicious snacks for us all! Secondly, I'm trying to save our budget for real meals. Many times on a road trip it's easy to spend too much money on convenient store snacks, plus add that to meals, and your budget is busted! 

Here's some of the snacks I gathered for our trip: 

If you are looking for an incredible, sugar free candy, I've got you covered! The Protein Butter Nuggets that I made taste incredible. (even my non-sugar free husband loved them!) 

Plus, I used Bob's Red Mill Vanilla Protein Powder Nutritional Booster with Chia, and it was perfect! That makes it where there are about 40grams of protein per batch of these guys, and about 24 grams of fiber, plus so much more goodness! I love using Bob's Red Mill products when I bake.
