Almost 3 years ago, when I gave up sugar, I sure did miss me some good SANGRIA! I honestly can't believe it's taken me this long to create a recipe!
In 2015, when I first started detoxing from sugar, any wine I drank needed to be SWEET wines, so instead, I just stayed away from it for a good while. Then finally, slowly as my body detoxed from sugar, I began to enjoy a good, strong red wine! And now, that's what I prefer, love, and get all the time. Even though I've grown to love red wine, I have missed having an occasional glass of this fruit infused concoction called SANGRIA!
So here it is! The perfect addition to your LABOR DAY WEEKEND CELEBRATION, a clean, no-sugar added SIZZIN' SUMMER SANGRIA Recipe!
SIZZLIN' SUMMER SANGRIA RECIPE:
- 1 Bottle of Fit Vine Wine-Cabernet Sauvignon
- 2 cups sparkling lime water
- Homemade simple syrup: 1/4 cup hot water with 1/4 cup honey mixed
- 2 oranges juiced
- 1/2 lemon juiced
- Mixed Berries crushed
- optional: 1/3 cup of Brandy
*You may want to strain the berries out if you don't prefer them in your drink. Use extra fruit to garnish the cups.
