No Regrets and School Week #1

Today is ONE week since I have been off of facebook and I have felt so free! I realized as I sat nursing my little lady that the past week I have not once gone to bed with regrets that I didn't spend enough time with my boy. Quite frankly, it felt GREAT!

I want to thank those of you who have sent messages to my sister, husband, our email, and my phone with your support. I have only had two negative responses... from the people you would expect .. my mom and mother in law, lol! But they both understand and really do understand... but they certainly don't like not seeing pictures of our babies so much! It is so sad to me that I found myself on FB so much or checking my phone that I can TELL a difference while I am taking this break and it is AWESOME! Something I heard today that was a huge realization... is that I am not THAT important to anyone, lol. HELLLLOOOO! Life will go on even if I am not posting pictures of our kids, which I am sure some of my followers really get tired of!

So today starts Week 1 of our homeschool week. I am really excited and... well not really prepared. I didn't invest as much time over the weekend as I should have.. but I am eager to begin. This week we start talking about the Fruits of the Spirit. I though our Rooster head would be able to grasp these concepts pretty well, so this week we are going to focus on LOVE. So for the next 9 Weeks we will focus on the Fruits of the Spirit and THIS memory verse.

"The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control" -Galations 5:22-23

I am alloting him 9 weeks to learn this ,but if he learns it sooner than that, then I will find other verses. This will be the first time truly working with him on memorization, so I am not sure how long it will take him.

When I ran a daycare last year, I bought a curriculum... and I still have it. I feel like before I invest in more I need to use this one. The issue last year is that it was above the kids heads... but now I am finding Noah is actually above most of it. It is focusing on the ABCs and 1,2,3.. but he knows all his ABC, can identify them, and write most. He can distinguish lower and upper case as well. HE also knows 1-20... and can count to them, leaving out 15 every time! :) We will start learning to write all of them. He knows 1-10 very well but the others not so much. So although I am using this curriculum, I will be modifying it for him.

So, please say a prayer for me this week as I go forward with another week with no facebook and limited computer. I literally only check my email, look for a recipe, or blog at night... it has been so nice. Also, please say a prayer for us as we are serious about our schedule!! 5am will come early, but I sure do enjoy those couple of hours with just me... as I can write to the Lord, read His word, and pray. This week my focus is praying for the people of SWELL CHURCH! Please, pray with me!

I hope you have a blessed week!
