6 Tips to a NEW YOU in 2019!

It’s a New Year….and sometimes the idea of NEW YEAR, NEW YOU can get a bad rap…but why!?

Why not take advantage of the natural energy that occurs when the New Year happens!?

Why not take time to reflect and gain vision and set goals for the new year ahead! ?

Why not make changes to your habits that will create a happier, healthier life in the future!?

Here are 6 TIPS to a NEW YOU in 2019!

1) DRINK MORE WATER!

Hydration helps you well, not be thirsty…..but that’s a given!
It also benefits our skin health and elasticity! (aka keeping you young!)
Helps your heart health! And helps your muscles and joints function better!

2) EAT MORE VEGGIES!

Don’t like veggies, there are plenty of ways to sneak them in food, add them to smoothies, or add them in supplement form that tricks your mind/tastebuds, but still gets you what you need. (ask me about any of these!)

More veggies means more fiber! More veggies give you tons of vitamins and minerals that your body needs! Eating more veggies means you are eating less sugar and processed food, which is better for your overall health, and preventing diseases!

3) DO MORE OF WHAT YOU LOVE!

Yes, I am giving you full permission to say “NO” to things that you are doing only out of obligation! Decide what things give you life, and joy and do more of those things!
This will benefit your overall happiness and sense of purpose in life!

4) GET MOVING!

Always a great goal for the new year!
Find a workout that you can enjoy, that challenges you, but also makes you happy! (well at least sometimes)
And remember….motivation isn’t something that you just have, it’s something that you CREATE!

5) DAILY 5-10 MINUTES OF SPIRITUAL DEVELOPMENT

Seriously, since I’ve made this a priority, it impacts me so much! And I can for sure tell when I HAVEN’T done it!
Mama’s, it has impacted the way I feel about me, how I interact with my kids during the day (thank you Lord for giving me patience on the daily b/c it’s needed), how productive I am in my home, and how well I love my husband!
Just 5-10 minutes, even if the kids are climbing on you! One of my favorite morning devos comes from the app She Works His Way on my phone! (it’s great for anyone, but specifically for business women!)

6) SELF CARE!

Take care of yourself!
Make time to read a book, listen to a podcast!
Have a glass of wine sometimes!
Have a girls night!
Go on a date with your main man!
Take a hot bath!
Get a pedicure!
Do a DIY FACE MASK!

Here’s one I’m loving right now because it smells incredible, and caffeine is great for your skin too! [read more about it’s benefits here]

  • 1/2 tsp finely ground coffee beans

  • 1/2 teaspoon coconut oil

Mix together, and rub over your face in circles for 2-5 minutes! Then rinse!

EASY PEASY, and you probably have the ingredients at your house right now!
